Web Design & Development
Custom Web Design & Development, Engineered to Load Fast and Rank
Most agencies build on plugin-heavy platforms and hope the site is fast. We engineer speed in from the first line of code — custom-built on a modern stack, tuned to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals, with SEO baked in and the whole thing owned by you. Built by a senior operator, not juniored out to a template team.

Design or development?
You need both — and one team that does both
Design is how your site looks and how visitors move through it. Development is the engineering underneath — the code that makes it fast, secure, accessible, and connected to your CRM, call tracking, and forms. Most shops do one well and subcontract the other, and quality leaks across the seam. Here, the same senior operator handles both, so the site that gets designed is the site that actually ships.

Performance is the product
“Good enough” never is
We build every site to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals— the speed and stability thresholds Google uses as a ranking signal. Most competitors say “fast” and publish no numbers; some still cite FID, which Google retired in 2024. Here are the real targets we hit:
Largest Contentful Paint
< 2.5s
Main content visible fast — the number most sites fail on mobile.
Interaction to Next Paint
< 200ms
The site responds instantly to taps and clicks (INP replaced FID in 2024).
Cumulative Layout Shift
< 0.1
Nothing jumps around as the page loads.
We’re not satisfied with a 93 where a 100 is reachable. This very site is built to that standard — run PageSpeed on it — and the real numbers for our recent builds are documented in selected work. Speed isn’t vanity: even a one-second delay measurably costs conversions.

Why our sites are fast
The modern stack is the mechanism, not a buzzword
Performance isn’t a plugin — it’s architecture. Here’s what we build on and why it matters:
Next.js / React
Server- and static-rendered pages that arrive fast and stay interactive — the opposite of plugin-bloated WordPress.
Tailwind
A tight, consistent design system with almost no unused CSS shipped to the browser.
Vite / Node
Modern build tooling that ships lean, optimized bundles.
Cloudflare R2 + edge CDN
Durable, lightweight, blazing-fast storage and delivery for large photo and video libraries — served from the edge, close to every visitor.
Vercel + GitHub
Every change gets its own preview deployment and a full version history — nothing ships unreviewed.
AI-accelerated delivery
Senior judgment paired with AI coding agents means faster iteration and boutique cost — quality that wasn't practical a few years ago.
What we build
A complete build, not a pretty front end
Design, engineering, content, and launch discipline, planned as one system. Each area links to its deep-dive.
Design & front-end build
Custom UX and interface, hand-built in modern components — never a page-builder template.
Back-end & integrations
Forms, CRMs, call tracking, insurance/VOB flows, payments — wired to the systems you actually run on.
Editable CMS
A clean content model your team can update without a developer — headless, not a plugin pile.
Redesign & migration
Modernize the site without throwing away the rankings and URLs you've already earned.
SEO-native architecture
Semantic HTML, schema, clean URLs, and crawlability built in from the first line of code.
Launch QA & ongoing support
Accessibility, performance, redirects, analytics, and security checked before launch — and kept healthy after.
Ownership
You own everything — no lock-in
Template platforms trap you: lose the subscription, lose the site. We build the opposite. Your source code lives in your own GitHub repository, on a standard, portable stack, deployed to your own hosting accounts, with an editable CMS your team controls. If we ever parted ways, you’d walk away with the entire asset — code, content, and all. You’re hiring a builder, not renting a landlord.
Accessibility
Real WCAG conformance, not an overlay widget
We build WCAG 2.2 AAconformance into the markup itself. That matters for real users, and it’s a genuine legal exposure: ADA web-accessibility lawsuits keep climbing, and the bolt-on “accessibility widgets” many sites install don’t protect you — a large share of recent suits targeted sites that already had one. Under the DOJ’s 2024 web-accessibility rule, this is table stakes — especially for healthcare, senior living, and legal.
Redesign
Modernize the site without losing your rankings
A redesign is where hard-won SEO most often gets destroyed — a new site launches, URLs change, redirects are missed, and organic traffic falls off a cliff. Our migration discipline prevents it:
- Benchmark current rankings, traffic, and top pages before anything changes.
- Build a 1:1 301-redirect map so every valuable URL lands where it should.
- Preserve high-performing content, metadata, schema, and XML sitemaps through the move.
- Monitor Search Console after launch and fix anything that slips, fast.
Regulated & high-stakes industries
We already know your constraints
Generalist shops learn HIPAA, LegitScript, and crisis-state UX on your budget. We don’t.
Addiction treatment
Crisis-state UX, HIPAA-aware forms and tracking, LegitScript-ready, VOB/insurance workflows.
Healthcare
Privacy-first analytics, encrypted forms, medical accuracy, and a clear path to care.
Senior living
A dual audience — older adults and their adult children — served with warmth and clarity.
Law firms
Trust signals, jurisdiction clarity, and design built to turn visitors into signed cases.
Pricing
Custom quote, project-specific
Every build is scoped and quoted to what you actually need — no fixed packages. For honest market context (US, 2026), custom builds typically fall in these ranges:
| Project type | Typical market range |
|---|---|
| Small-business marketing site | $2,000 – $8,000 |
| Comprehensive custom site | $5,000 – $15,000 |
| E-commerce / integration-heavy | $5,000 – $40,000+ |
| Ongoing maintenance & support | $500 – $2,500 / month |
We’ll tell you honestly where your project lands before you commit to anything.
Proof
Recent builds, real performance
Boyadzhyan Legal Shield, Ambience Recovery, and this very site are recent builds on this stack. The rebuilds, PageSpeed results, and the technologies behind each are documented in selected work.
Who builds it
A senior operator, start to finish
Morpheus is led by founder and CEO Bernie Grohsman — 26 years in SEO, PPC, and web, with a deep focus on behavioral healthcare and other regulated industries, and a no-code AI certification from MIT Continuing Education (Great Learning). Because the practice is deliberately small and senior, the person who scopes your build is the one who designs it, writes the code, and answers the phone after launch. AI coding agents accelerate the work; senior judgment governs it.
FAQ
What buyers ask before a build
What's the difference between web design and web development?
Design is how the site looks and how a visitor moves through it; development is the code that makes it work — fast, secure, and connected to your systems. We do both, so nothing gets lost in a hand-off between a designer and a separate dev team.
How much does a custom website cost?
It depends on scope, but for honest market context in 2026: most small-business sites run $2,000–$8,000, most comprehensive SMB builds $3,000–$12,000, custom sites $5,000–$15,000, and e-commerce or complex builds $5,000–$40,000+. We quote every project specifically rather than sell a fixed package.
How long does it take to build a website?
A focused marketing site is typically weeks, not months; larger or integration-heavy builds run longer. Because we ship via preview deployments, you see real progress continuously — not a big reveal at the end.
Who actually does the work — do you outsource?
No outsourcing, no junior hand-off. A senior operator owns your build end to end. The big agencies advertising hundreds of employees are telling you your project gets staffed by juniors; that's not how this works.
Do you build custom, or use templates like Wix or Squarespace?
Custom, on a modern framework. Template builders are fast to stand up but cap your performance, your SEO, and your ownership — you can't change the engine, and you can't take the site with you. We build sites you own outright.
How fast will my site be? Do you actually hit good PageSpeed scores?
We build every site to pass Google's Core Web Vitals — LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1 — and target top Lighthouse scores across performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO. This very site is built to that standard; you're welcome to run PageSpeed on it. Most agencies won't publish a number because most can't.
Is SEO built in, or is it an extra?
Built in. A senior SEO is doing the build, so semantic structure, schema, clean URLs, Core Web Vitals, and crawlability are there from the first line of code — not sold back to you later as a separate retainer.
Will a redesign hurt my search rankings?
Not if it's done right — and this is exactly where most redesigns go wrong. We benchmark your current rankings and traffic first, build a 1:1 301-redirect map, preserve high-value URLs, metadata, and schema, and monitor Search Console after launch. Protecting the equity you've already earned is part of the job, not an afterthought.
Will I own the site and the code?
Completely. The source lives in your own GitHub repository, on a standard portable stack, with your own hosting accounts — no proprietary builder, no lock-in. If we ever parted ways, you'd keep everything.
Can I edit the site myself after launch?
Yes — content runs through a clean, editable CMS built for your team, so you can add pages, posts, and updates without touching code or waiting on a developer.
Will the site be ADA / WCAG accessible?
We build real WCAG 2.2 AA conformance into the markup — not a bolt-on overlay widget, which don't actually protect you (over a fifth of 2025 ADA web lawsuits targeted sites that already had a widget). For healthcare, senior living, and legal clients especially, accessibility is both a legal-risk and a real-user issue.
Do you work on WordPress or modern frameworks — and why does it matter?
We build on modern frameworks (Next.js/React) rather than plugin-heavy WordPress, because the architecture is what makes a site genuinely fast, secure, and durable. It's the difference between engineering performance in and bolting a caching plugin on afterward.
Do you work in regulated industries?
Deeply — behavioral health, addiction treatment, senior living, healthcare, and legal. These verticals carry constraints (HIPAA-aware tracking, LegitScript readiness, accessibility, sensitive-visitor UX) that generalist shops learn on your budget. We already know them.
Do you handle media-heavy sites with lots of photos or video?
Yes — large photo and video libraries are served from Cloudflare R2 and the edge CDN, so a media-rich site stays lightweight and fast instead of crawling to a halt.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance and hosting?
Yes — ongoing support keeps performance, security, content, and analytics healthy after launch. See website maintenance for how that works.
