Bernie Grohsman

Bernie founded Morpheus Consulting Inc. in 2018 and has more than 26 years of hands-on SEO experience. As principal consultant, he personally designs websites and handles SEO for clients. He also writes and edits content, with much of his work focused on healthcare and behavioral healthcare organizations.

Career

Behavioral healthcare marketing experience

Before Morpheus, Bernie founded Treatment-Centers.net and its operating company, Behavioral Health Technologies Inc., serving as CEO of both. He also served as Director of Internet Marketing at CRC Health Corporation and Chief Marketing Officer at Support Systems Homes. These roles gave him experience both building a treatment directory and leading marketing for care providers.

At Virtue Recovery Center, Bernie led internet marketing and client acquisition through SEO and paid search during an expansion from one location with roughly 40 beds to eight locations with hundreds of beds. Since 2023, he has managed a single Google Ads account whose monthly spend reached more than $650,000.

Measurement

Measuring what happens after a lead

Bernie works across SEO, Google Ads, conversion optimization, attribution, and analytics. A campaign can produce plenty of clicks or form submissions while doing little for the organization. His work examines which sources bring qualified inquiries and, when the data supports it, which inquiries become admissions, customers, or revenue.

That has meant building offline conversion tracking, call tracking, and CRM integrations, including work with Salesforce, CallTrackingMetrics, and CallRail. He uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to check the signals behind reporting and campaign decisions.

Technical work

Web development and marketing technology

Bernie also works directly on the websites and systems behind marketing. He designs and builds websites with WordPress and Next.js, using Tailwind CSS, PHP, and MySQL where a project calls for them. He uses GitHub and Vercel for development and builds integrations through marketing APIs. His current work also includes custom AI agents and automation. He used KNIME, RapidMiner, and Altair AI Studio during an MIT Professional Education program in AI and machine learning that he completed in 2025.
